“We encourage girls to trial and encourage coaches and clubs to put forward talented girls in 2024. There will no doubt be athletes developing more with further training and game play in a more normal season”. In 2024 the Barwon Sports Academy is partnering with Netball Victoria to deliver a local netball program to a select group of talented girls aged 13 and under. These are girls born specifically in 2010.

The program will give netballers in the Barwon region the best level of support and education, so that they can given themselves the best opportunity to develop their skills and understandings to trial for further opportunities with local association representative sides, regional sides, Netball Victoria Zone and state squads.

The Barwon Sports Academy netball program is looking for young athletes who have the potential to develop their fundamental skills through;

  • A series of technical and tactical skill development sessions
  • 15-20 Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Sessions
  • Holistic education program which will include Netball specific education
  • Netball Victoria Regional Inter-Academy Challenge (Talent ID Opportunity for talent academy squads)

We are asking local representative coaches, parents and club representatives to promote this opportunity and to encourage girls who fit this category, to register. We are looking for athletes who are talented and aspiring to achieve the higher level with their netball.
